Universitas Terbuka (UT) has officially established a partnership with the Executive Board of the Indonesian Guidance and Counseling Association (PB-ABKIN) to prepare for the establishment of the Guidance and Counseling Study Program of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (Prodi BK FKIP) UT.
This partnership was marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) by the Dean of FKIP UT, Prof. Dr. Ucu Rahayu, M.Sc with the Secretary General of PB ABKIN, Fathur Rahman, M.Si in the Meeting Room of Wisma 2 Universitas Terbuka, Pondok Cabe (30/09/2024).
In his remarks, Prof. Dr. Ucu Rahayu, M.Sc, appreciated the presence of the PB ABKIN management and thanked them for their willingness to take the time and opportunity to establish a partnership with FKIP UT. The Dean hopes that this collaboration will continue until the upcoming launch of the FKIP UT Guidance and Counseling Study Program, then continue with collaboration in developing teaching materials, exam materials, until the FKIP UT Guidance and Counseling Study Program learning process runs optimally until it produces professional BK S1 Study Program graduates who are ready to be placed anywhere. Furthermore, the Secretary General of PB ABKIN, Fathur Rahman, M.Si said that the Chairperson of ABKIN opened up the opportunity to establish a Guidance and Counseling Study Program at the S1, S2, S3 levels and Counselor Professional Education at LPTK in supporting the achievement of Indonesia’s educational ideals, in this case including the BK Study Program at UT which is famous for its Open and Distance Education (PTJJ) mode. ABKIN is determined to oversee the quality of the “youngest BK sibling” of the BK Study Program organizers in Indonesia. Furthermore, he explained that the BK Study Program is currently becoming a prima donna, where BK is slowly being used in various sectors and lines of government and private institutions. He also emphasized that the ABKIN Regional Management (PD) is also ready to facilitate and oversee the quality of the implementation of the UT BK study program which requires space for implementing lectures at the universities implementing the BK study program under the auspices of PB ABKIN.
This activity was attended by Vice Dean 2 of FKIP UT Dra. Isti Rokhiyah, M.A., Ph.D, Vice Dean 3, Dr. Lidwina Sri Ardiasih, S.Pd., M.Ed., as well as the management of PB ABKIN, the BK Study Program task force team, the BK Study Program RMK drafting team consisting of lecturers from the Indonesian Education University (UPI), Malang State University (UM), Jakarta State University (UNJ), Yogyakarta State University (UNY), Surabaya State University (UNESA) and Ahmad Dahlan University (UAD) Yogyakarta.
