FKIP UT and UNISMUH Makassar Establish Strategic Cooperation in the Tridharma of Higher Education and MBKM

Makassar, September 27, 2024 – The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Terbuka (FKIP UT) has officially established a partnership with the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar (FKIP UNISMUH). This partnership is stated in the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) held at the UNISMUH Makassar campus, which was attended by representatives of both institutions. The signing of this MoA includes collaboration in the implementation of the Tridharma of Higher Education and the Independent Learning – Independent Campus (MBKM) program.

The signing of this MoA is a strategic step to strengthen the implementation of MBKM, which aims to provide freedom for students to develop their competencies through various forms of learning outside the campus. The two faculties will hold various collaboration programs in the fields of education, research, and community service, in accordance with the spirit of MBKM.

The first implementation of this MoA is a research activity in the Physics Education Study Program of FKIP UT, chaired by Khoirotun Nadiyyah, M.Sc., with research member Rika Aprianti, M.Pd., who also attended the event. This research is expected to open up opportunities for wider collaboration between the two institutions, both in academic and non-academic fields, to improve the quality of education.

The MoA signing ceremony ended with a symbolic handover of cooperation documents and plaques. From UNISMUH, the handover was represented by Dr. Ma’ruf, S.Pd., M.Pd., as the Head of the Physics Education Study Program, FKIP UNISMUH, while from UT it was represented by Khoirotun Nadiyyah, M.Sc., who represented the Dean of FKIP UT, Prof. Dr. Ucu Rahayu, M.Sc. This event is an important momentum for both faculties to strengthen synergy in improving the quality of higher education in Indonesia.

This collaboration is expected to be the beginning of many strategic programs that support the development of academic and professional capacity, both for lecturers and students at both institutions. FKIP UT and FKIP UNISMUH are committed to continuing productive and beneficial collaboration in creating educational innovations that are relevant to the needs of the times.
