South Tangerang, September 6, 2024 – The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Universitas Terbuka (UT) once again held an Academic Orientation activity for 504 PPG Prospective Teacher students, Wave 2, 2024. This hybrid activity aims to provide preparation on the curriculum and learning process in the PPG Program for Prospective Teachers.
The Academic Orientation activity was held in the Hall of the Quality Building, 3rd Floor, Universitas Terbuka for PPG students for Prospective Teachers UT-Bogor, while online for PPG students for Prospective Teachers UT-Bandung and UT-Serang. The materials presented included general policies of the PPG Study Program, curriculum, learning system, use of the Learning Management System (LMS), and information related to academic activities, student affairs, and administration.
The Dean of FKIP UT, Prof. Dr. Ucu Rahayu, M.Sc., in his remarks said that the PPG Prospective Teacher program aims to produce new teachers who are qualified and ready to teach professionally. He also emphasized the importance of the role of teachers in shaping the future of the nation. Meanwhile, UT Chancellor, Prof. Drs. Ojat Darojat, M.Bus., Ph.D., in his speech gave encouragement to the students. He reminded that being a teacher is a noble task but full of challenges. The UT Chancellor also hopes that the students can make the best use of this opportunity to learn and develop themselves.
Also present was the Head of the PAUD Dikmas Division of the Bogor Regency Education Office, Siswanto, S.Pd, M.Si., who gave a speech and appreciation for the good cooperation between the Open University and the Bogor Regency Government in an effort to improve the quality of education.
The orientation activity was also filled with various interesting presentations from competent speakers. Dr. Andayani, M.Ed., explained the orientation of the PPG Prospective Teacher learning pattern. Suci Nurhayati, M.Pd., explained the PPG Prospective Teacher curriculum. In addition, the LMS Admin Team also provided guidance on learning strategies with LMS support.
With the implementation of this orientation activity, it is hoped that PPG Prospective Teacher students Wave 2 of 2024 can follow the learning process well and succeed in achieving the predicate of professional teachers.
